I can probably guarantee that you have never heard of this game. I like to think I am one of a couple hundred people that still play it. If you are still interested let me explain it to you. BZFlag is short for Battle Zone capture Flag, their website says,
“BZFlag is a free online multiplayer 3D tank battle game. The name originates from “Battle Zone Capture The Flag”. It runs on Windows, Mac OSX, Linux, BSD, and other platforms. It was one of the most popular games ever on Silicon Graphics machines and continues to be developed and improved to this day.”
The only problem it is not being improved to this day BZFlag 2.4.2 came out several years ago and the last thing I heard was BZFlag 3.0’s development had been canceled. It is sad because BZFlag is really fun. It is slightly to complicated to describe so hopefully I will put up a lets play video here soon showing how to download it and the basic gameplay. To be honest the reason I am writing this is because BZFlag is slowly dying. A couple years ago there were around eight or ten popular servers that almost always had players on them. Now only the top three are ever populated. The good news is there are other people like me who are trying to get the word out and get BZFlag back to its glory days.
